Welcome to the NCNOC

NCNOC Community Service - "Things Are Picking Up!"

The CalTrans Adopt-A-Highway program, which began in 1989, has been one of the truly successful government-public partnerships of our time. More than 120,000 Californians have cleaned and enhanced over 15,000 shoulder-miles of roadside since the program started.

The NCNOC Adopt-a Highway commitment is now in its 6th year. The club is booked for the six miles near Alice’s Restaurant till 2014, and meets every other month (see websites Calendar or your Norton Notice Newsletter) at the intersections of highways 35 and 84.

The club's event leaders Lorin and Kathryn Guy have been hauling all the needed equipment up to the clean-up site since the club's participation started. They also provide a tasty treat of coffee cakes, fruit, hot coffee, tea and on many occasions hot cocoa; the Guys are committed to the club's community service.

The NCNOC hopes to see more members coming out in 2012 for a brisk morning walk. It’s fun and easy and a great way to get involved.
